Chirmi beads are found rising in the forests of Aravali Mountains in India. They are believed to be tons of of years old. It is mentioned that the bead selects its owner and can by no means stick with an unlucky person. The Chirmi beads are used to push back evil, bring good luck and ward off bodily harm. They are stated to symbolize Goddess Lakshmi and so are stored in lockers, cash boxes or purses. Chirmi beads comes in white, red and black colour representing Mata Saraswati, Mata Mahalakshmi and Mata Kali.
