About Dattaey

Dattatreya is a saint well-known in Puranas. He was the son of Anasuya and Maharshi Atri. The title ‘Dattaterya’ could be alienated into two phrases- ‘Datta’ and ‘Atreya’, the place the previous means given (by Vishnu) and the latter refers to Sage Atri, His father. He's thought-about to be the incarnation (avatar) of the Trinity- Lord brahma, Load vishnu and Lord Siva - a Trimurti Avatar.



There are a lot of tales associated to the beginning of Dattatreya. Dattatreya is alleged to be born in Mahur, Maharashtra. One tale says that the Goddesses Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Mata parvati needed to check the chastity of Anasuya, who was supposed to be the essence of chastity. So, they despatched their husbands Brahma, Lord vishnu and Siva, who requested Anasuya to serve them meals in her nude form. Anasuya made the Trinity (trideva) take the types of small infants after which fed them with no garments on her corpse. It's stated that Maharshi Atri, seeing this, invoked the religious powers and reworked the three infants into a 3-headed child, who was named Dattatreya.

One other story says that Dattatyreya was born of triplets on account of immaculate conception. Afterward, they have been born as one child to Atri and Anasuya.

Lord (bhagawan) Dattatreya is represented as having three faces, one among Lord Lord brahma, the second of Lord Vishnu and the third of Lord (bhagawan) Siva. He has six hands. The three proper fingers maintain a trident, a mala (rosary) and a lotus flower whereas the three left arms have s talk about, a conch and a water pot. The three heads from the identical trunk signify the powers of formation, conservation and destruction. It signifies the intimate unity of everything.
