Here's a list of things related with the worship of Surya - the Sun God. Surya is the only visible God (bhagwan) which we can see, perceive and pray. The Sun God is recognized as the life-giver, ''Prannadata'' of the whole galaxy. Surya is important for life. All Vedas regard Surya as the witness (Saakshi) of all actions. The Sun or Surya is usually called ''Atmakaraka''. As a Sanskrit word, ''Atma'' means ''soul'' and ''Karaka'' means ''indicator''. The Sun is the ''indicator of the soul''. The Surya is the sign of our pride, respect, position, popularity, the heart, the eyes, general strength, admiration and power.
