Mata Brahmacharini did extreme reparation to get Lord (bhagawan) Shiva as her husband. She carried out arduous severity and as a consequence of which She was known as Brahmacharini.

It's acknowledged that in her reparation to get Lord (bhagawan) Shiva as her husband She spent one thousand years on the food plan of flowers and fruits and one other one hundred years on the weight loss plan on leafy greens whereas sleeping on the floor.

Additional She adopted strict fasting routine whereas staying at open place in scorching summers, tough winters and stormy rains. Based on Hindu mythologies She was on weight loss plan of Bilva leaves for 3000 years whereas She prayed to Lord (bhagawan) Shankar. Later She even stopped consuming Bilva leaves and continued her penance with none meals and water. She was often called Aparna when She left consuming Bilva leaves.

As legends go Mata Brahmacharini immolated herself by wishing to get a father in her subsequent delivery who can respect her husband Lord (bhagawan) Shiva.
